Local-first signal instrument

Haunted by design.
Built like an instrument.

SpiritBox from Ashen & Amber is a retro-inspired sweep console with a local dashboard, guided Wi-Fi setup, live frequency view, and field-ready signal states. No forced cloud, no theatrical junk, no plastic séance machine nonsense.

What people are getting
A local-first sweep instrument with browser-based control, fast Wi-Fi provisioning, live signal feedback, and a setup path documented well enough that normal humans can use it.
Physical interface
External potentiometer, dedicated status LED, reset control, and a grille-forward chassis that reads like vintage audio gear instead of novelty paranormal merch.
Field-ready setup
Power it, join the temporary setup network, open the local provisioning page, then run the console from your normal network.
Local-first access
No mandatory cloud dependency for basic operation. Use the browser dashboard from phone or laptop on the same network.
Color logic
Amber for active tuning, green for cleaner reads, red for alert states. The device, dashboard, and brand all speak the same visual language.

Prototype renders

3D printed chassis direction.

These renders show the enclosure direction, front control layout, and serviceable rear access. They stay on the homepage because this thing needs to look like a real product, not vapor.

Interface

The dashboard is the real control surface.

Most interaction happens in the browser: frequency readout, sweep graph, signal meters, mode changes, lantern output, reset behavior, and device status. The box stays clean. The intelligence lives in the console.

Interactive preview

Run a safe browser demo of the console.

This is a themed front-end demo of the SpiritBox web UI. It looks and behaves like the console without needing a live device on the other end.

Why this exists

Visitors can click around, see the interface language, and understand the control surface before hardware ships.

Drop-in file

The bundled spiritbox-ui-demo.html is included in this package, so the site will load the demo immediately after upload.

Demo footage

Give the product a place to prove itself.

A dedicated area for a product video, setup walk-through, or field clip. The section is live now and can be pointed at your hosted video later.

Open the local dashboard and control the unit from a clean browser UI with live signal metrics and mode buttons.

Documentation

Getting started without the guesswork.

The quick start guide walks through local Wi-Fi setup, dashboard behavior, reset and recovery, and what the signal indicators actually mean.

What the guide covers

01Power-up and first-run Wi-Fi setup with SPIRITBOX-XXXX and 192.168.4.1.
02How to reach the console at spiritbox.local and what to do when mDNS acts stupid.
03Readout breakdown for RF strength, signal/noise, Wi-Fi dBm, mode buttons, lantern slider, and reset behavior.
04Factory reset and recovery path so nobody bricks the vibe over a bad Wi-Fi password.
